Current PM Cleansing Routine
Sunday, October 11, 2015Today I thought I'd share my current skincare routine, I have trained with quite a few skincare brands over my years of working in the beauty industry, and I tend to stick to products if I love them, so a few of these are staples in my routine.
1. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £3.33 from Boots
I use this at night to remove my make-up, before cleansing my skin. It's just simple and easy to use. I used to use Bioderma, and I think this is just as good, after all, it's only removing my make up. FYI: micellar waters are not enough to use alone as a cleanser.
2. Super Facialist Skin Renew Cleansing Oil by Una Brennan £10.99 from Boots
After removing make up, I massage this into my skin, and remove with a warm, damp flannel. The smell is a really citrus-y, fresh scent, it really melts any make up and breaks down any residue left on the skin. This reminds me of Dermalogica's 'Pre Cleanse'. You can also use this as a double cleanse, so first to remove make-up, and second to cleanse your skin.
3. Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm £39.50, available from the Elemis website
I switch between this and the Skin Renew cleansing oil, depending on what mood I'm in.
Elemis is one of my favourite skincare brands, this luxurious balm, is packed full of beautiful, skin friendly ingredients. It smells absolutely gorgeous, I can't get enough of it! My boyfriend even commented on the smell after I'd cleansed my face and got into bed, he said I smelt amazing!
The texture dissolves any make up residue, and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. I prefer to use this as a second cleanse, after removing my make up, because I want all the lovely ingredients on my skin, not on top of my make up. This can also be used as a treatment mask, if you leave it on for 10 minutes.
4. REN Clarimatte Clarifying Toner £13 from the REN website
REN is one of my favourite skincare brands. This alcohol free toner contains AHA's such as glycolic and lactic acid, to slough away dead skin cells, and encourage skin regeneration. It's gentle enough to use every day, and this really helps to shrink my pores, prevent breakouts and keeps my skin looking clear and radiant.
It's important to use a toner after your cleanser, to balance the pH level of the skin, and also to help shrink the pores, to prevent products and dirt building up and causing breakouts.
5. La Roche Posay Serozinc £8.50 from Boots
I know some people use this alone as a toner, but I like to spritz this onto my skin after toning. It has no smell, and it feels generally refreshing upon use. The zinc in this is great for oily, breakout prone skin.
What are you currently using at night?
More of my routine to follow in the next post!

I love it! Even as a therapist myself, there are useful tips that I can learn from in this blog. Can't wait for the second instalment of your skincare routine!
ReplyDeleteI love serozinc - thank god we can get it in the Uk now. I've had my eye on that cleansing oil for a while so I think it's time I picked it up :)
