Acid Toners: an update

Friday, February 05, 2016

If you read my toning post here, you'll see that I recommended a few different options for acid toners.
Acid toning is one of the best things I ever did for my skin, it was one of the main things that completely cleared it up (along with using good skincare products alongside, and starting to use Liquid Gold.)
If you don't already, I would really recommend starting. Metaphorically speaking, it's a bit like blowing a loud horn into your ear, forcing your skin into action.
I always apply two toners, so first I use an acid toner to exfoliate, then I use a hydrating spritz toner directly afterwards to hydrate and moisturise, before applying the rest of my routine.
Honestly, you will fall in love with acid toning when you see the difference it makes to your skin.

I have a quick update today, firstly is about a toner I mentioned in my toning post mentioned above, the REN Clarimatte Clarifying Toner.

Clarimatte™ Clarifying Toner
So, this has been one of my favourite toners for a while now, but I've stopped buying it recently as they have unfortunately changed the formulation. The glycolic and lactic acid that used to be in it, have been replaced with passion fruit and pineapple extract, which won't have nearly as much of a positive effect on the skin. It's also annoying that they say it contains 'no drying alcohol' when it does, in fact, contain alcohol denat. I really love the rest of the REN products though, but I wish they hadn't changed this!

Secondly, I want to draw your attention to the exfoliating toners available from Bravura London, which I am dying to try!
Detoxifying Eucalyptus Astringent Toner 15% AHA/BHA 150mlPurifying Calendula Toner 13% AHA 150ml
Revitalising Ginseng Toner with Glycolic Acid 5% 150ml
There are three types available, and they all contain acids. They are all only £12.90 which is really affordable, click here to view them on the website. Once I have run out of the ones I'm currently using, I am definitely going to be buying one of these, I think I'll go for the Revitalising Ginseng one, or the Purifying Calendula one. My last post was also about Bravura's acid treatments, which I am really pleased with, I promise, I'm not being sponsored by them! I'm just really impressed with the products and their price points.

Until next time!
